Clinical and Hazardous Waste Treatment
A "one stop shop" for all your clinical and special waste disposal
Ethos Recycling operates a facility in Avonmouth, near Bristol, developed for the clean disposal of a variety of clinical and hazardous waste streams. The facility consists of two forms of waste treatment:
- Ethos Energy (please include logo with link to ethosenergy website) Thermal Process Plant.
This converts waste to carbon, and then converts that carbon to energy in the form of gas. The steam which is produced as a by-product is utilised to run the Sterilisation plants.
- Tempico Sterilisers which utilise the energy produced from the Advanced Thermal Process.
The Clinical and Special Wastes Facility was opened in Avonmouth in 2000. This patented technology is permitted under IPPC and WID, and has been ensuring the safe destruction of wastes while producing exceedingly low emissions. Unlike conventional thermal disposal systems it can easily handle rigid plastics and pharmaceutical waste. The plant is also registered for Renewable Obligation Certificates "ROCs" – producing "green" energy.
Ethos Recycling also operates an autoclave facility for the treatment of clinical waste in Littlehampton.
